If you’re looking for a simple recording space, look no further than the Recording Booth. This virtually soundproof booth is located right in GroundWorks and is equipped with audio and video recording equipment. Use it to record a voiceover for your short film, lay down some sweet vocal tracks, or send your Mom an mp3 of you playing her favorite song on guitar. It’s specially designed to be easy to use, so if you don’t have recording experience, don’t sweat it!

The Recording Booth has computer access both inside and outside the booth, so you can control everything from the inside if you’re working on your own, or have a friend run the show from the outside. The Booth’s loadset includes QuickTime Pro, Garageband, Soundtrack Pro, Logic Pro, and Camtasia and Screenflow (two programs which can record what’s on the camera, the microphone, and the desktop, all at the same time).

Access to the Recording Booth is by reservation only. In order to use the booth, you must attend a brief orientation, which is offered every weekday and begins at the GroundWorks desk at 10am and 2pm. Once your account has been approved, you can use the online reservation system to reserve the Booth for up to four hours at a time.
